Hi! I’m Katrina, and I’m a artist/creative who hand paints styling mats and backdrops and pieces that artistically enhance editorials, weddings, events, and brands all over!
1. HOW THEY VIEW CHILDREN
I love how children are not viewed as a nuisance, but are loved and appreciated. Spain is super family friendly, with parks everywhere! You can bring your kids anywhere and everywhere. No one cares, or looks down on you for bringing them, even to a nice restaurant.
2. CLEAN FOOD
I love how clean the food is—its much less processed here. My produce goes bad after just a couple of days, which means its super fresh! Pasta sauce in a jar tastes more fresh and is sweet, and taste’s much less “fake.” Very little is pre packaged, and it’s wonderful. The options are fewer, but I’m totally fine with that! It makes my grocery store trips much faster!
3. INSPIRATION
I’m so inspired here. I think its mainly because I live by the ocean. I love the flowers, and the bright walls around the neighborhoods. The sunshine makes me happy too. It amazes me how simple life is here. I’ve come to appreciate bright colored flowers, and an ocean breeze way more than I ever have before.
4. TRAVEL
I mean, I guess this one is a no brainer. The ability to travel around Europe and see buildings that are full of so much history, is such a gift. To see my children want around places that are old, and yet still full of life is crazy to me!
5. PACE OF LIFE
This might surprise you, but I love how slow Spain is. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes its frustrating to not have set times a store is open, or to never be able to go to a store before 9:30 or 10 am, but its taught me to slow down. Because of these reason, I’ve learned to be ok with doing without, and to really examine what I need versus what I want. It was hard to adjust to in the beginning, but now I’m used to it, and I can laugh about it.
There are so many other reasons I love living in Spain/Europe, but I’ll share more later!
Looking forward to sharing more soon. Katrina
