Introducing the limited collection of styling mats  “Memories of France”…these are rollable pieces of art that help your creative eye capture detailed flat lays that serve your clients who want details captured easily.  They also are perfect for easily creating fine art over structured styling. Julie Paisley and I joined creative forces, and are excited to have brought this beautiful collection to life!

I was able to travel to France recently, and was blown away by how the different areas are all over France. From the shores of Normandy, to the colors of Giverny, the options that lend to color and texture are endless. Julie Paisley has photographed in France MANY times, and loves the beauty of Paris and especially southern France so it was only fitting that she photograph the mats and lend her expertise!

These are the reasons I chose France to be the inspiration for this launch.

1. France has a history of being the epitome of luxury and has a high influence on the wedding and fashion industry when it comes to heritage, fashion, and even food! Paris has been known as the city of love, and has remained a top destination for honeymoons. Because of the high influence France  has had in the wedding industry, it definitely needed its own inspirational launch. 
2. The color and inspiration of France gives so many options for photographers and stylists! Between the florals in Giverny, to the neutrals in Paris, the possibilities are endless. I can’t wait to put these styling mats in your hands.  This beautiful country is filled with visually calming colors for you to use for your wedding or styling days. 

I was able take my personal inspiration and transfer it to a notebook so that I could figure out the best way to paint the styling mats.  As I was visiting these places, I realized that I had many preconceived notions regarding the colors and feelings of the different locations. Some of the spots that I thought would have a ton of color actually ended up being really neutral, and one of them provided me with the most beautiful color combinations that I’ve been able to paint with to date!

I firmly believe that styling mats (in combination with good photography and styling) are a wonderful way to make your photographs stand out. (whether its detail shot, or florals, or shoes, or accessories) Styling mats are a tool, yes, not the only solution, but definitely one of them! I’m all about brush strokes and texture helping to  push the boundaries in flat lays and styling.
